Berkeley County Library System to Host Friendship Bracelet Workshops This February
The Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) is set to engage the community by hosting a series of hands-on Friendship Bracelet workshops tailored for children, teens, and families. These events are scheduled for February 14 and February 28, with sessions taking place at four library branches: Moncks Corner, Hanahan, Cane Bay, and Sangaree.
Each workshop will be open to participants during two time slots, from 11 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The BCLS encourages attendees to drop in at their convenience. The initiative seeks to foster creativity and strengthen community ties by inviting families to join in a shared crafting experience.
At the workshops, participants will have the opportunity to design and personalize their own friendship bracelets using a variety of crafting materials, including beads and braiding materials. Notably, all materials will be provided at no cost, making this an accessible activity for everyone interested in exploring their artistic talents.
Jessica Nuckolls, the Young Adult Librarian at Moncks Corner Library, expressed enthusiasm about the workshops, stating, “This Valentine’s season, join us in creating heartfelt bracelets that spread kindness and smiles.” This sentiment underscores the library’s mission not only to promote creativity but also to instill values of friendship and community spirit during a season often associated with love and generosity.
The workshops are designed for all ages, reflecting the library system’s commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. By encouraging families to participate together, the BCLS aims to enhance intergenerational connections while providing a platform for creativity and self-expression.
In addition to the Friendship Bracelet workshops, the Berkeley County Library System offers a wide range of programs and services throughout the year.
