
Silver Bay YMCA’s Ticonderoga Teen Center Receives ,500 Grant to Enhance Local Youth Programs
Ticonderoga, NY – On Wednesday, Silver Bay YMCA announced that its Ticonderoga Teen Center has been awarded a significant Generous Acts grant from the Adirondack Foundation, totaling ,500. This funding aims to bolster the existing programs and services offered at the center and underscores the importance of youth-focused initiatives in fostering community development.
Walt Lender, Vice President of Development and Government Relations at Silver Bay YMCA, expressed gratitude for the partnership with the Adirondack Foundation, highlighting the crucial role the Teen Center plays in supporting the social and emotional well-being of young individuals in the Ticonderoga area. “This space plays a vital role in nurturing the social and emotional well-being of our local youth, offering a safe and supportive environment for growth and connection,” Lender noted. “We deeply appreciate the foundation’s commitment to investing in the next generation and recognizing the Teen Center’s significance within our community.”
The Teen Center serves as a free drop-in facility for adolescents aged 13 to 18, located at 123 Champlain Ave. in Ticonderoga. During the academic year, the center provides a range of structured programming options. These include homework assistance, life skills training in various areas such as cooking, and opportunities for social engagement. This multifaceted approach not only assures a safe space for teens to connect with peers but also empowers them with essential skills for their future.
